Mustang Trekking - Mustang trekking information Mustang trekking is one of the most mysterious trekking trail in Nepal. Mustang trekking lying in the rain shadow of the Himalayas is perhaps the last enclave of pristine Tibetan culture. Forbidden & isolated from the rest of the World it was able to evolve its own distinctive culture and traditional which is so rich & unique. Since Mustang trekking trail has been open from 1992 is relatively easy trekking along the permitted route to Lo Manthang, which lies in the very heart of Mustang. Mustang trekking is accessible by foot or by air from pokhara to Jomsom. Mustang region is located along the banks of the Kali Gandaki river and divided into two parts namely the Upper Mustang and the Lower Mustang. Upper Mustang is largely inhabited by Manangi people and goes up to the ancient capital of Lo Manthang. Whereas Lower Mustang covers the part of lower valley along the Kali Gandaki river. Since mustang trekking route has been open Himalaya Journey Trekking and Expedition , Nepal arrange the huge number of trekkers to relevant areas.

Mustang trekking required special trekking permit, which can obtain through Nepal Government registered trekking agency. Being in the rain shadow of the Nepal Himalaya, Mustang has much less rain then the rest of Nepal Mustang adventure trekking trip gives you the opportunity to go where few have been before for Nepal trekking tour. As everywhere in the Himalayas, this area provides spectacular mountain scenery highlighted by Dhaulagiri at 8167m, Annapurna I 8091 , Nilgiri 7041m, and you will be surrounded by more than 35 mountains over 6000 meters while you are mustang valley trekking. The elevation of the mustang trekking rise from 2726 to 3780m above the sea level. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), the international aid organization CARE and the American Himalayan Foundation are involved in development, cultural preservation and environmental activities in upper Mustang. Day 01: Arrival in kathmandu 1334m, Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition’s representative will transfer to hotel , Mustang trekking briefing with officially arrangements. overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 02: After breakfast, our tour guide will take to you for historical monuments sightseeing around kathmandu valley such as Bhkatapur, pasupatinath, Boudhhanath, kathmandu durbar square & Swaymbhunath(monkey temple) and prepare for the Mustang trekking because this day is required to make Mustang special trekking permit with original passport. Overnight at kathmandu.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara 915m. by tourist bus or by flight. overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.
Day 04: After breakfast, Pokhara by private vehicle to Nayapul 956m than trek to Hile/Tikhedhunga 1555m. Overnight at Hile/Tikhedhunga.
Day 05: Hile/Tikhedhunga trek to Ghorepani 2855m. Overnight at Ghorepani.
Day 06: Early in the morning HJT trekking guide will take to you Poon Hill 3210m for superb Himalayan scenery including the Dhaulagiri 8167m, Nilgiri 7041m, Fishtail/Machhapuchhare 6998m, Annapurna I 8091m, Annapurna II 7939m , Annapurna III7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Annapurna south 7219m, Hiunchuli 6441m, Lamjung Himal 6986m,Tukuche peak 6920m etc , breakfast at ghorepani and continue trek to Tatopani/Natural hot spring 1179m.Overnight at Tatopani.
Day 07: Tatopani trek to Ghasa 2013m. Overnight at Ghasa.
Day 08: Ghasa trek to Marpha 2667m. Overnight at Marpha.
Day 09: Marpha trek to Kagbeni 2810m. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 10: Kagbeni to Chele 3050m. Overnight at tented camp.
